Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen with a rapidly growing manufacturing organisation based in Belfast.
The role is on contract working within an established manufacturing team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Work closely with the engineering design team/system owners to manage and drive the manufacture for design. Make vs buy.
· Develop, manage, and deploy manufacturing readiness packages that feed into the manufacturing plan/strategy.
· Support off-site manufacturing requirements – Must be able to travel.
· High level operational process creation, deployment, and governance.
· Self-starter and self-motivator to drive themselves and others.
· Own advanced manufacturing engineering requirements during product development phase to include MBOM creation, process planning, equipment requirements, PFMEAs, virtual builds, labour estimation and build documentation/work instruction creation.
· Specify and support the design of tooling and jigs required for composite manufacture and vessel system fit out.
· Work with the engineering and operations team to troubleshoot any process or equipment issues through the new product introduction and into the series manufacture phase.
Education/Qualifications and Experience:
Required:
● Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline, or demonstrable relevant work experience over a 5+ year period.
● Design for manufacture and assembly experience, with a proven ability to engage and work with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver improved manufacturability.
● Experience of advanced manufacturing engineering tools and their deployment, preferably in a high-technology engineering NPI environment.
● Experience of taking products through the NPI phase and into series production.
● Experience of troubleshooting and resolving complex manufacturing and assembly issues (process and/or design related).
● Industrialisation experience during a high growth period.

● Experience of working in a low volume high complexity manufacturing environment.
● Experience of working with design and development engineers in the early stages of a project.
● Experience in composites manufacturing and assembly.
● ERP/Business Dynamics 365 experience.
● Catia V6 Experience.
● Delmia Digital Manufacturing Experience with MES.
● Tooling design and leadership experience – Managing the priority of tools required with fabrication specialists and procurement to ensure on time delivery and suitability.
● Familiar with Project Management tools such as MS Project
Key Skills Required:
Technical skills:
· Strong technical skills in mechanical or electrical and manufacturing engineering
· A clear appreciation and understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes including those for composite and metallic components.
· An ability to find novel solutions to complex technical problems and to work with a broad team to deliver them.
· Excellent computer skills including high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Project or Primavera (or other equivalent planning tools).
