Systems Engineering Managers are required for Canada
Nova Scotia based
Systems Engineering Manager
Responsibilities:
The management of all design and engineering activities on a ship design and build contract;
Ensuring all allocated work is completed within budget, to schedule and in compliance with the quality requirements;
Ensuring that a Systems Engineering approach is followed and that activities are conducted according to the Systems Engineering Management Plan;
Technical oversight of the project including overall co-ordination of the technical work;
Monitoring the work being performed by design subcontractors;
Allocating requirements to the design subcontractors;
Primary point of contact for discussions and negotiations with the customer’s Technical Authority;
Chairing Design Reviews, Technical Progress Meetings and Technical Interchange Meetings;
Planning and overseeing the development of the technical information);
Validating technical specifications for the procurement of material and equipment;
Overseeing and reviewing content, format, and conclusions of all technical reports for submission.
Qualifications:
In addition to the following, the Systems Engineering Manager will have a minimum of 15 years experience in ship design, at least 5 years of which will have been spent within industry in a design management role.
Registered Professional Engineer;
Managed ship design projects within industry for Canadian government customers;
Familiarity with Systems Engineering principles;
Managed within industry a design project valued at over $500k;
Worked within team based organizations;
Good familiarity with marine vendors.
