RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Acts as technical expert for project team(s) and shares knowledge appropriately

• Sole responsibility for Software Architecture

• Supports less experienced team members

• Able to complete any design and/or coding task and promotes the use of design patterns and re-usable software components

• Conducts walkthrough of designs and code ensuring that a high level of quality is maintained.

• Pre-sales : To develop, prepare and deliver client presentations / workshops to demonstrate
Technical competence in latest Microsoft technology

• Contributes to bid work as technical solutions provider, acts as TDA on proposals using Sharepoint 2007 and other Microsoft Server products

• Assists the project manager in the delivery of solutions

• Manages time to ensure milestones are met

• Thought leadership; keeps up to date with new technology and how this can add value to company offerings

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

• Expert with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007).
• Experienced with Windows Server 2003, SQL Server 2005, IIS 6.0, ASP.NET 2.0+

• Expert with Application Development Tools e.g. Visual Studio .NET 2005/2008

• Expert with a specified Programming Languages e.g. C#

• Commercial experience in delivering web based application architectures (including web services)

• Commercial experience with software development

• Experience in delivering usability requirements including accessibility

• Experience in development methodologies such as Agile, UML and user centered development

• Competent in methods and techniques for structured reviews, including reviews of technical diagrams, test plans, business cases and any other key deliverables

• Expert in the selection and application of information gathering methods, tools and techniques which are appropriate to the information required and the sources available e.g. contextual enquiries, focus groups, structured interviews, questionnaires, observation, statistical analysis

• Experienced in configuring source control / configuration management mechanisms, eg Source Safe and/or Team Foundation Server

• Familiar and capable of implementing Corporate, Industry and Professional Standards e.g. helpdesk procedures, corporate QMS, ISO 9001

• Familiar with Operating Infrastructure used within own organisation and has been involved in setting up project infrastructure

• Desirable if holds Microsoft Certification or working towards

• Qualifications: Must have 3rd level education (IT specific preferred)

• Must be prepared to travel with role

• Good communication & presentation skills, particularly the ability to communicate complex technical issues in a jargon free manner to Client senior management
